Ball Liberals Reject PC Call to Eliminate Insurance Tax
Paul Davis, Leader of the Official Opposition, said, “The Ball Liberals amended a PC resolution that called on them to consider eliminating the sales tax on insurance.”
“The PC resolution simply called for the government to consider eliminating the sales tax on insurance, which has been impacting families and businesses across our province since the Liberals imposed it in 2016,” said Davis.
“The Liberal amendment completely changed the resolution in order to delay consideration until sometime in the future, and leave open the possibility of keeping the tax in place.”
“Clearly, the Liberals do not consider removing the sales tax on insurance to be a priority. Either they don’t understand or they don’t care that people are hurting and our economy is suffering from the crushing burden of taxation that their government has imposed,” said Davis.
