"During my first 120 days in office, we have been busy organizing the Premier's Summit on Health Care, recruiting for the Youth Advisory Committee and the Advisory Council on Crime and Community Safety, and initiating reforms of the House of Assembly, which will include reducing the number of seats, changing the MHA pension plan and reforming the day-to-day operations of the House to engage MHAs more effectively. We have refocused four departments to link justice and public safety, education and early childhood development, seniors and wellness, and business and rural development with tourism and culture. We've boldly defended the province's interests with respect to CETA and the fisheries investment fund, and faced the global challenge of plunging oil revenues, promising to consider all options while being careful to strike a balance that strengthens our province's economy.
